This year’s PASIC show, the International Convention of the Percussive Arts Society, took place in Austin, Texas from November 5th to the 8th. This annual gathering of percussionists of all styles and disciplines regularly attracts thousands of percussionists from all over the world, and this year’s event was no exception.

The piping band world has been saddened by the sudden death in Scotland of the famous and well liked snare drummer, Bert Barr, on September 24, 2008, at the age of 72.

German born Premier endorser Jorg Michael has been busy working in the studio in Finland with his band Stratovarius where he has just completed recording 16 tracks for the band’s next album on his GEN-X, Premier Series double bass drum kit in Gunmetal Sparkle finish.

Premier would like to congratulate the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band on becoming the 2007 RSPBA Champion of Champions after finishing in first place at the Cowal Championships which took place in Dunoon on Saturday 25th August 2007.
